Summary - Hurricane Valley’s Training Ground for Stand-Up, Improv & Creative Writing

Focus - Inspire individuals to learn the interrelated crafts of comedy and writing – either in-person or via online workshops – as well as to develop a sustainable live theatre venue in the Hurricane Valley.

Purpose - CHuCKLES (Central Hurricane Creative Knowledge Learning Environment & Services) exists to help individuals interested in creative writing or comedy overcome obstacles, enhance productivity, and improve the overall quality of their efforts. The website will be the primary vehicle to drive participation and to monetize the business.

Desired Results - (1) Create brand awareness, buzz, and referrals; (2) Entertain visitors and capture their imaginations as they consider whether they'd benefit from learning the skills of comedy (and/or creative writing); (3) Convert interest into inquiries and online registrations; (4) Develop a community of comedians and writers; (5) Build audiences for live improv, standup, and open mic shows; (6) Monetize the site by selling tickets, merchandise, and streaming shows.

Target Audience - There are three primary demographics for the site: (a) local residents of Hurricane Valley; (b) residents of Southwest Utah; and (c) the 5 million+ annual visitors to the region. A portion of each demographic will visit the site for three distinct reasons: (i) curiousity and/or online entertainment; (ii) interest in developing their skills in comedy and/or writing; and (iii) interest in watching live comedy theatre. All three demographics are diverse, encompassing ages from pre-teen to elderly as well as a full mix of genders, backgrounds, and sensibilities. Particularly with tour groups, english may not be their first language.
